Greggs’ new supply chain management solution

Greggs has selected technology company Keytree to help manage interaction with suppliers, as part of a wider transformation programme.

Greggs will implement Keytree’s Ariba solutions software to help manage its 4,500 suppliers across its supply chain operations and represents a key stage in the baker’s transformation programme. The software will help Greggs to handle calls and daily interactions more effectively. Keytree will also provide Greggs with SAP technology and applications to improve its customer interaction centre.
Focus on supply chain
The supply chain has been a real focus for Greggs, after revealing earlier this year that it expected to save around £6m in annual savings after completing the restructuring of its supply chain. The completion of the restructuring has reduced structural costs and made operations simpler and become more efficient. It has consolidated its 79 in-store bakeries into its regional network, resulting in one-off redundancy costs and asset impairment charges totalling £8.2m in 2014.
