London, 2nd December 2015 – Enterprise technology expert, Keytree, has been selected by Greggs as SAP Systems Integrator for the first two phases of the retailer’s business transformation programme. Built on SAP HANA, the projects form part of a multi-year change management programme to enable the company to compete more effectively in the fast-moving food-on-the-go market.
Following the selection of SAP as technology and applications provider for ERP in 2014, the transformation programme will develop benefits across several areas of the Greggs business.
Keytree has now implemented Greggs’ Customer Interaction Centre as the first major use of the core SAP technology, allowing the business to handle calls and daily enquiries, more effectively. Other deployments include the successful delivery of cloud-based Learning and Development solutions through SuccessFactors, which will provide almost 20,000 employees at Greggs with easy access to its dedicated training and learning programme. Full rollout of the new training platform will be available to all employees over the next 18 months. Keytree is also implementing Source to Contract requirements using Ariba solutions, which will see the business manage 4,500 suppliers across its operations, once the project goes live later this year.
James Holmes, Programme Manager for SAP Transformation at Greggs said, “The work with Keytree has only been running for nine months as part of our longer term IT investment programme, but we have made a good start and are encouraged by the early results we are seeing these projects deliver.
“With our planned growth in the UK, it was important that we chose the right technology partner to help us plan and execute these projects successfully. As well as a strong track record of successful project delivery, Keytree has the right cultural fit to help us achieve our goals”.
Tim Kyle, Managing Director, Keytree, said, “Our team is excited to be working with Greggs to help achieve their business goals through such a strategic technology implementation. The project team is focused on shifting the business systems from multiple legacy systems to a more simplified, centralised operation.
“With a track record of implementations across the SAP stack, Keytree will use SAP HANA to configure core finance, procurement and portfolio and project management solutions, as the next phase of the business transformation project for Greggs.”

About Greggs
Greggs is the UK’s leading bakery food-on-the-go retailer with nearly 1,700 shops nationwide and serving over six million customers a week in Britain.
Expert bakers for 75 years, Greggs specialises in daily fresh shop-made sandwiches and savouries baked off fresh in the shop ovens throughout the day, including the iconic sausage roll. These are complemented by freshly ground coffee, a wide range of muffins, cupcakes and other confectionery. Greggs’ Balanced Choice range offers a choice of sandwiches, salads, soups, porridge and fruit, which are all less than 400 calories and meet amber and green on the Food Standards Agency traffic light system for fat, saturated fat, salt and sugar.
Greggs has ten regional bakeries around the UK, supplying fresh bakery food to its shops in each region.
Greggs’ multi-award winning, loyalty scheme ‘Greggs Rewards’, is a mobile payment app designed to reward customers for their loyalty whilst making shopping across its shops more convenient, quicker and easier. The app is the first entirely digital loyalty scheme launched by a UK food-on-the go retailer, eliminating the need for customers to carry a separate loyalty card or their wallet when they shop.
Greggs is also one of the first UK retailers to accept Apple Pay, the new mobile payment and digital wallet service by Apple that lets iPhone 6, 6 Plus, and Apple Watch owners make contactless payments in shop using NFC (near field communication) with their devices.
