Bakery chain completes rollout of ‘customer interaction centre’. Next up: SuccessFactors e‐learning Bakery chain Greggs is in process of upgrading its systems to SAP Hana as part of a wider change management programme intended to make the organisation more responsive.
The first major project to be completed is Gregg’s customer interaction centre, based on SAP, which is intended to enable the retailer to handle calls and enquiries more effectively.
Next on Gregg’s to‐do list is the delivery of cloud‐based learning and development services via SuccessFactors, SAP’s cloud‐based human resources platform, which is intended to provide almost 20,000 employees at Greggs with easy access to its dedicated training and learning programme.
The full rollout of the new training platform is planned for the next 18 months. Keytree is also implementing “source to contract” requirements using Ariba e‐commerce, another of SAP’s acquisitions, which will see the business manage 4,500 suppliers across its operations, once the project goes live later this year.
“The work with Keytree has only been running for nine months as part of our longer term IT investment programme, but we have made a good start and are encouraged by the early results we are seeing these projects deliver,” said James Holmes, programme manager for SAP transformation at Greggs.
Tim Kyle, managing director, Keytree, said that the whole project with Greggs would entail the migration from multiple legacy systems onto a unified SAP platform, including both cloud‐based systems, with core data running on SAP and SAP Hana.
“The project team is focused on shifting the business systems from multiple legacy systems to a more simplified, centralised operation,” said Kyle. “With a track record of implementations across the SAP stack, Keytree will use SAP Hana to configure core finance, procurement and portfolio and project management solutions, as the next phase of the business transformation project for Greggs.”
It follows the selection of SAP in 2014 for Greggs’ IT transformation programme, as well as services vendor Keytree to help with the implementation.
